Palworld

Palworld is a new upcoming game by the Japanese game studio Pocket Pair. Palworld was released on January 19, 2024 in early access on Steam, the Xbox Store, and the Microsoft Store. It was released in a very early access state that had plenty of bugs and issues, but still garnered 7 million sales in the first five days. Palworld is an action-adventure survival game with monster taming aspects like the popular game, Pokemon. Palworld takes place in a open-world environment in a world populated by animal-like creatures known as Pals. Players have the ability to battle and capture these Pals. Players can accumulate up to 137 different pals through capture or breeding. There is also a base building aspect that allows players to create elaborate bases and harvest resources using their pals. Every pal is unique in the terms of skills, two pals may look alike, but their skills may be more suited for a job compared to the other. Palworld also features many other aspects that you could find in similar rpg games such as, cooking and crafting. This gives players plenty to do while they are not exploring the world and catching pals. One of the rather stranger aspects to the game is the Pals ability to carry guns. For a game that’s very similar to Pokemon the ability for pals to be able to carry guns is rather comical. The developers didn’t stop short on humor in the game, for example one of the Pals is named Depresso and can be found wondering around in a depression like state. Palworld also features the ability for players to play in multiplayer serves of up to 32 people. Unfortunately player data is not carried over from one server to the other, instead players must create a new character for each new server the start or join. Palworld is still in early release and is not expected to have a complete release until sometime in 2025. However, so far players are loving the game and reviews have been flooding in with high ratings. Overall Palworlds is one of the biggest releases so far for 2024.
